2. These Terms
These terms apply when you purchase goods from us online.
Other policies that may also apply to your purchase include our:
- Delivery Policy
- Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy
- Privacy Policy
- Cookie Policy
Where there is any conflict between these Terms & Conditions and your statutory consumer rights, your statutory rights will apply.
3. Our Products
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications and prices on our website are accurate.
Product photographs are provided for illustrative purposes. Colours and finishes may appear slightly different depending on your screen, lighting, materials or manufacturing variations.
Measurements and dimensions are approximate unless we specifically state otherwise.
Natural materials, including wood and cloth, may contain normal variations in colour, texture or finish.
Product packaging may also differ from images shown on the website.
4. Product Availability
All products are subject to availability.
Adding an item to your basket does not reserve that item.
If a product becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.
Where we cannot supply a product, we may offer you:
- an alternative product;
- the option to wait for the product to become available; or
- a full refund for the unavailable item.
You are not required to accept an alternative product.
5. Placing an Order
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the goods shown in your order.
You should check your basket carefully before submitting your order.
After receiving your order, we will normally send you an email acknowledging that we have received it.
An order acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that we have accepted your order.
A legally binding contract is formed when we accept your order, normally by sending an order confirmation or dispatch confirmation.
We reserve the right not to accept an order where, for example:
- a product is unavailable;
- payment cannot be authorised;
- there has been an obvious pricing or description error;
- we cannot deliver to the address supplied;
- we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse of our website; or
- we are otherwise unable to fulfil the order.
If we cannot accept your order after taking payment, we will refund the relevant payment.
6. Prices
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£).
The price payable will be the price displayed during checkout when you submit your order, subject to any obvious pricing error.
Delivery charges, where applicable, will be shown before you place your order.
We may change our prices at any time. Price changes will not normally affect an order that we have already accepted.
7. Pricing Errors
We make reasonable efforts to ensure our prices are correct.
Occasionally, a product may be incorrectly priced due to human or technical error.
If an obvious pricing error is discovered before we accept your order, we may cancel the order or contact you to ask whether you wish to proceed at the correct price.
If you do not wish to proceed, any amount already paid will be refunded.
8. Promotions and Discount Codes
From time to time, we may offer:
- discount codes;
- promotional pricing;
- free delivery promotions;
- introductory offers; or
- other special offers.
Promotions may be subject to additional conditions displayed with the relevant offer.
Unless stated otherwise:
- promotions cannot be exchanged for cash;
- promotional codes cannot normally be combined;
- promotions are subject to availability;
- promotions may have an expiry date; and
- certain products or delivery services may be excluded.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend a promotion before an order is placed.
This does not affect orders already accepted or your statutory consumer rights.
9. Payment
Available payment methods will be displayed during checkout.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered on the website.
Your payment may be processed by a third-party payment provider.
We do not necessarily receive or store your complete payment card details where those details are processed directly by the payment provider.
By submitting payment details, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
10. Delivery
Available delivery methods and charges will be shown during checkout or communicated to you before we accept your order.
We will deliver goods to the delivery address supplied by you.
Please make sure your address and contact information are correct before submitting your order.
Delivery times shown on the website are estimates unless we expressly agree a guaranteed delivery date.
Unless another delivery period has been agreed with you, goods will normally be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being entered into.
Some products, particularly pool tables, large items or products supplied to order, may have longer lead times. Where this applies, we will communicate the expected delivery arrangements to you.
Please see our Delivery Policy for further information.
11. Large and Heavy Items
Certain products sold by Spots & Stripes Shop, including pool tables, may require specialist delivery.
Before ordering a large product, you are responsible for checking that:
- the product will fit in its intended location;
- there is sufficient access to the property;
- doorways and corridors are wide enough;
- staircases and lifts are suitable;
- there are no undisclosed access restrictions; and
- the intended location is suitable for the product.
We may contact you before delivery to discuss access requirements.
Please tell us about stairs, narrow entrances, restricted parking or other access issues before delivery.
12. Pool Table Delivery and Installation
Pool tables may require specialist transport, assembly, levelling or installation.
The product page, checkout process or correspondence with us will explain whether installation is included.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchasing a product does not automatically include additional building work, electrical work, removal of existing equipment or modifications to your property.
Where incorrect or incomplete access information supplied by you results in additional work or a failed delivery, reasonable additional charges may apply where legally permitted and communicated to you.
13. Failed Delivery
If we cannot complete delivery because:
- nobody is available to accept the goods;
- an incorrect delivery address was supplied;
- suitable access is unavailable; or
- an agreed delivery appointment is missed,
we may contact you to arrange redelivery.
Reasonable additional delivery costs may apply where the failed delivery was caused by circumstances within your control.
14. Risk and Ownership
Goods remain our responsibility until they are delivered to:
- you; or
- another person nominated by you to receive them.
Once delivery has taken place, responsibility for the goods passes to you.
Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received payment in full.
15. Your Right to Change Your Mind
For most goods purchased online, consumers have a legal right to cancel the contract without giving a reason.
For most eligible goods, the cancellation period ends 14 days after the day you receive the goods.
Where one order contains multiple goods delivered separately, the cancellation period normally begins from the day the final item is received.
To cancel an eligible order, you must clearly tell us that you wish to cancel.
You can contact us at:
Please include your:
- name;
- order number; and
- details of the product you wish to return.
Please see our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy for full instructions.
16. Returning Goods After Cancellation
Once you tell us that you are cancelling an eligible order, you must normally return the goods within 14 days.
For change-of-mind returns, you may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods where this was made clear to you before purchase.
Large items such as pool tables may require specialist transportation.
Do not arrange the return of a pool table or other large product without contacting us first.
Where you would be responsible for the cost of returning large goods that cannot normally be returned by post, the relevant return cost or reasonable estimate will be provided before you enter into the contract where required.
17. Condition of Returned Goods
You are entitled to inspect goods in much the same way as you would reasonably inspect them in a physical shop.
You should take reasonable care of products while they are in your possession.
If you handle a product beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, and this causes a reduction in value, we may be entitled to deduct an appropriate amount from your refund.
Where reasonably possible, please return products with their original packaging and accessories.
Opening packaging does not automatically remove your statutory consumer rights.
18. Products That Cannot Normally Be Returned Because You Changed Your Mind
The statutory right to cancel may not apply to certain types of products.
This can include:
- products made specifically to your individual specifications;
- clearly personalised products;
- sealed products that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed;
- products that become inseparably mixed with other goods after delivery; and
- other products excluded from cancellation rights under applicable consumer law.
A product is not automatically considered bespoke simply because we order it from a manufacturer or supplier after receiving your order.
Where an item is genuinely bespoke or personalised and your usual cancellation right will not apply, we will make this clear before you purchase it.
19. Refunds for Cancelled Orders
Where you validly exercise your statutory cancellation right, we will refund payments due to you.
Where required by law, this includes the cost of our least expensive standard outbound delivery option.
If you selected a more expensive delivery service, such as express delivery, we are not required to refund the additional cost above our standard delivery option.
Refunds will normally be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise agreed.
Where goods need to be returned, we may wait until:
- we receive the goods back; or
- you provide evidence that you have returned them,
whichever happens first.
Refunds will be processed within the applicable legal time limits.
20. Faulty or Incorrect Goods
We are legally required to supply goods that are:
- of satisfactory quality;
- fit for their intended purpose; and
- as described.
If a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description, please contact us.
Email:
Please provide your order number and details of the issue.
Photographs may help us investigate damage or faults more quickly.
Depending on the circumstances, your legal rights may include:
- rejecting the goods;
- repair;
- replacement;
- a price reduction; or
- a refund.
For faulty or incorrectly supplied goods, we will bear reasonable return costs where required by law.
Your rights relating to faulty goods are separate from your change-of-mind cancellation rights.
21. The 30-Day Right to Reject Faulty Goods
Under UK consumer law, consumers will generally have a short-term right to reject goods that do not conform to the contract within 30 days, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
Other rights to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund may continue after this period.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits those statutory rights.
22. Manufacturer Guarantees
Some products may include a manufacturer’s guarantee or warranty.
The details and duration of any manufacturer’s warranty will normally be provided with the product or shown on the product page.
A manufacturer’s warranty is additional to your statutory rights and does not replace our responsibilities to you as the retailer.
23. Damage in Transit
Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If an item arrives damaged, please contact us promptly.
Where possible, please provide:
- your order number;
- photographs of the damage;
- photographs of the packaging; and
- a description of what has happened.
Reporting visible delivery damage quickly can help us resolve the issue more efficiently.
Failure to notify us immediately does not automatically remove your statutory consumer rights.
24. Product Safety and Instructions
You should use products in accordance with:
- manufacturer instructions;
- safety information supplied with the product; and
- any reasonable installation or maintenance requirements.
You should not use a product where you know or reasonably suspect it is unsafe or damaged.
Please contact us if you require assistance regarding a product supplied by us.
25. Our Responsibility to You
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaching these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
In particular, we do not exclude liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- breach of your statutory consumer rights; or
- any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
26. Business Purchases
These Terms & Conditions are primarily intended for consumers purchasing products for personal use.
If you are purchasing products wholly or mainly for business purposes, please contact us before ordering where appropriate.
Different contractual terms may apply to business-to-business transactions.
27. Personal Information
We use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
This includes information required to:
- process orders;
- take payments;
- arrange deliveries;
- provide customer support;
- prevent fraud; and
- comply with legal obligations.
Please read our Privacy Policy for more information.
28. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Examples may include:
- severe weather;
- transport disruption;
- industrial disputes;
- power or communications failures;
- supplier disruption;
- natural disasters;
- government restrictions; or
- other events that we could not reasonably prevent.
If such an event affects your order, we will take reasonable steps to reduce the impact and contact you where appropriate.
Your statutory rights relating to delayed or failed delivery remain unaffected.
29. Website Errors
We make reasonable efforts to keep our website accurate and available.
However, we cannot guarantee that the website will always be:
- uninterrupted;
- completely error-free; or
- free from temporary technical problems.
We may correct errors, update information or temporarily suspend website functions where reasonably necessary.

- changes to our business;
- changes to our website;
- changes to our products or services; or
- changes to applicable law.
The Terms & Conditions that apply to an order will normally be those in force when you place that order.

33. If Part of These Terms Is Invalid

34. Delayed Enforcement
